Oud Amsterdam Almond Macaroons Liqueur
Bitterkoekjes, delicious Dutch almond macaroons. Almond macaroons have a long history that predates the Middle Ages. They were traditionally served at weddings as a symbol of the ups and downs of marriage, represented by the sweetness of sugar and the bitterness of almonds. Today, bitterkoekjes are often served alongside a cup of coffee or tea as a delicious snack.
Our almond macaroons do not require an oven though. Cognac, almonds and herbs, that’s all we need. It’s quite similar to Amaretto, but with a Dutch twist. This unique and authentic Dutch liqueur is sweet and nutty with slightly bitter finish, perfect for sipping as an after-dinner treat, in a coffee or using as a cocktail ingredient.
