The Turks made coffee (kahve) known in Europe in the 16th century. It only became popular in the 18th century. At first, the hot drink was mainly drunk together with other ingredients, such as ginger and cinnamon. It was soon noticed that a liqueur in the coffee was also a good combination. Now the roles have switched, mocha (named after Yemen port al-Mukhā) has been processed into liqueur.
